Caring for Kenya

Caring for Kenya seeks to embody God's love by restoring health, building a sanctuary for worship, and uplifting the Kisii community through compassionate service.

Latest News

The Caring for Kenya Team is hosting a donation only car wash and bake sale on Sunday, May 4th, from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church located at 171 E. Main Street, Salem, WV 26426. Proceeds from this event are designated for construction phase one of the church building in Magena.

Caring for Kenya's most recent benefit dinner in March raised over $2,700 for medical supplies. The team would like to express their gratitude for those who came out to support them, donated baked goods, and worked tirelessly to make the event possible. Their hard work and sacrifice is already making a difference in Kenya!​

The Kiabugesi church now has their floor thanks to the generosity received during Caring for Kenya's first benefit dinner in February. Pastor Benard Mose sent us pictures of the work and expresses his heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed their time, money, and prayers!

What are the dates for this mission trip?

Our mission trip to Kisii, Kenya, is scheduled for July 31st, 2025, through August 11th, 2025.

Who is the mission team?

Our current mission team is comprised of adult and youth members of the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church, spiritual leaders, and local volunteers who are medical professionals and construction experts. Caring for Kenya is ready to welcome any additional volunteers who feel called to this mission!

What are the planned objectives?

Our current planned objectives include: (1) constructing a church building at Magena, (2) providing medical assessments, (3) completing point of care testing, and (4) organizing children's Bible programs that are operated by our youth mission team members.

You can support our mission through prayer, by joining our team, monetary donations, or attending our fundraising events!

Benefit Dinner

The Caring for Kenya team is hosting a donation only benefit dinner on the last Sunday of each month until their departure. Proceeds benefit a specific need or project selected by the mission team.

When is the next benefit dinner?

The next benefit dinner is April 27th, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. at Heritage Christian School located at 225 Newton Ave, Bridgeport, WV 26330.

What is this month's meal?

This month's meal is baked pasta, green beans, salad, bread, dessert, and a drink. Available dine-in or take out!

What is this month's need or project?

Proceeds from this month's benefit dinner are designated for the first building phase of the Magena Church in Kenya.
